Account
Team and seats
Invite people to a workspace, what each role can do, and how many seats a plan has.
A workspace holds your projects and your credits. Everyone in it can open every project, and every run draws on the workspace’s one balance. Each account starts with a workspace of its own.
Invite someone
Open Members in the sidebar. Under Invite someone, type the person’s Email, pick a Role and press Send invite. Only an owner sees this form.
- Someone with no tinypica account gets an email that names you and the workspace, with a link. They join when they sign up through that link, and they land in your workspace. Until then they are listed as invited and hold a seat. Resend sends a new link and the old one stops working. Revoke cancels the invite and frees the seat.
- Someone who already has an account is added at once, and no email is sent. Tell them to pick your workspace under Switch team in their account menu.
Roles
There are two roles, and a workspace can have more than one owner.
| Role | What it can do |
|---|---|
| Member | Work on every project and chapter in the workspace. See who the members are. |
| Owner | Everything a member can. Invite people, change their role and remove them. Rename the workspace and set its project defaults. Create and revoke API keys and webhooks. |
The last owner cannot be removed. When an owner is made a member, the API keys and webhooks they made are dropped.
Seats
A seat is one person in the workspace, the owner included. An invite that has not been accepted yet holds a seat too. The top of Members shows how many are taken.
| Plan | Seats |
|---|---|
| Free | 1 |
| Starter | 3 |
| Studio | 10 |
| Scale | 25 |
Seats are a limit that comes with the plan. They are not billed per person: the plan costs the same with one member or with every seat filled. See the pricing page for prices and Credits and plans for what each plan includes.
When every seat is taken, Send invite is switched off and the form says so. Remove a member, revoke an invite, or move to a plan with more seats on Billing. If you move to a plan with fewer seats than you have people, everyone keeps their access, and you cannot invite anyone until you are back under the limit.
Who works on what
Two places record it. Neither one limits access: everyone in the workspace can still open the project.
- A project’s Settings has a Team card. Add a workspace member by email as Translator, Typesetter or QC.
- In the editor, the ⋯ menu has Assigned. Pick a member, or Unassigned. A chapter has one assignee, and pages are not assigned one by one. On Home, Mine lists the chapters assigned to you.
Remove a member
An owner presses Remove on the person’s row in Members. They lose access to the workspace at once, the API keys and webhooks they made are dropped, and their seat is free again. Chapters assigned to them stay assigned until someone takes them over. Their account is not deleted: they keep their own workspace and any other they belong to.
More than one workspace
You can belong to several workspaces: your own, and any you were invited to. Each has its own projects, plan and credits. When you belong to more than one, the account menu at the top right names the workspace you are in: press it to open Switch team and pick another. When you sign in, you land in the workspace you joined first, which is usually your own.
