Where it falls short

We are in beta. Every line stays editable, so a miss is a quick fix, not a blocker.

  • Chinese is a translation target but has no lettering face yet, so a Chinese run stops at the clean page.
  • A long translation in a small bubble is shrunk to fit. Check the tight ones in the preview.
  • Sound effects are set in a matching face, not redrawn in the artist’s hand.

What people ask first.

Which fonts are used?
A lettering set made for comics, with a face matched to each kind of text: dialogue, thoughts, shouts, sound effects, captions and narration. Japanese, Korean and Thai are set in faces made for those scripts.
Can I change the lettering before I export?
Yes. Edit any line in the editor and letter the page again to see it, as often as you like. You can also change what kind of text a line is, and its face follows. Neither costs credits.
How is the text sized?
Each line is fitted to its balloon, and the dialogue on a page is brought to one common size, so a page does not read in a different size for every balloon. Shouts and sound effects may run larger.
What is in the layered PSD?
Two layers: the cleaned art, and the lettering on a layer of its own above it. A letterer can hide or redo the text without repainting the page. PSD export is on Studio and Scale.
